Artist Talk – Ognjen Milošević

At the Artist Talk with Ognjen Milošević, we discussed the importance of photography as a medium in his artistic practice. We realized that photography, as a subtle diary, beautifully captures the flow of life and states of consciousness. We explored how photography becomes clearer when we see more clearly and whether the essence lies in what we desire or in our true nature. Ognjen Milošević graduated from the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka, specializing in Intermedia Art. He received the award from the Museum of Contemporary Art of Republika Srpska for the best works at the final year exhibition of students from the Fine Arts department. He has presented his work in several solo and group exhibitions. He is one of the artists affiliated with the Vagon Gallery. Artist Talks are important for articulating the situations that artists encounter in our region. We discuss the creative process, the position of artists in today's time, specifically in the cultural and artistic scene, the potential of art as a means for social change, and the experience of the artists themselves in such a position. The conversation was led by artist Isidora Branković. This event was supported by the Public Call for Audience Development by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republic of Srpska.

Artist Talk – Aleksandra Kuzmanović

At the Artist Talk with Aleksandra Kuzmanović, we discussed contemporary painting on the art scene. We explored the in-between space where young artists find themselves after completing their studies, as well as what quality of life would be like if they could solely rely on their artistic work. And why doesn't a day last 32 hours?! Aleksandra Kuzmanović is currently completing her master's studies in Painting at the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka. She has received several awards in the field of painting. Since her third year of undergraduate studies, she has been exhibiting her work individually and has participated in fifteen group exhibitions and nine solo exhibitions so far. At the Artist Talk with Nikola Tomić, we gained insight into the position of a young artist and why it is crucial for artists to collaborate. Throughout the interaction, we learned about the journey from an idea to its realization. We also touched upon the challenges he faces and his future prospects in the art scene. Nikola Tomić is a final-year student at the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka, specializing in Intermedia Art. He is one of the artists affiliated with Vagon Gallery. ZVONO 2023

The presentation of the ZVONO award in a conversation with Ena Mitrovski and artists Isidora Branković and Danijela Mihić. The Center for Contemporary Culture KRAK is announcing the call for the Zvono Award (Young Visual Artist Award) for the year 2023. Artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the age of 35, who engage in visual arts practices in the broadest sense of the term, including painting, graphic arts, sculpture, photography, video, spatial objects and installations, and new media, are eligible to apply. This award represents the most significant professional stimulus in Bosnia and Herzegovina, dedicated to young artists whose main content involves a two-month artistic residency for the winner at Residency Unlimited in New York, as well as a joint exhibition of finalists at KRAK in Bihać in autumn, and at Manifesto Gallery in Sarajevo and Vagon Gallery in Banja Luka in winter 2023/2024. The jury, which will evaluate the submitted applications, will convene in May 2023 at the premises of KRAK, and it consists of Claudia Zini (art historian, Sarajevo), Mladen Banjac (art historian, Banja Luka), and Yvonne Petkus (artist, USA). The finalists and the winner will be announced in May 2023. The curating of this year's exhibition will be undertaken by Adna Muslija (Sarajevo).

  Through the exhibition 'On Target', artist Nikola Tomić explores the relationship between humans and nature, nature within humans, and humans within nature, as well as the excessive consumerism in the modern era.
