"The series of works at the exhibition "Ringe ringe jaja" arose from the author's desire to bring the collected toys from Kinder eggs to life on canvas, thereby giving them not only dimensions but also emotions and movement. She not only paints and draws them, but also tells their unwritten story.

With Dajana Ćuk, we notice that through her stylistically recognizable use of chromatic colors, she infuses ordinary small toys with soul, allows light to shine through them and give them life. She sees subjects in them, something through which she also reflects herself and her uncorrupted individuality that colorfully observes the world. Her play never stops, but spills from the brush into the colorfulness of colors on the canvas in front of her, introducing the observer to an innocent world of uncompromising observation, where there is no division into essential and inessential, which identifies the gaze with that of a child.”

This text, authored by Katarina Borojević - attendee of our workshop "How to make an exhibition?" is a brief insight into the upcoming exhibition by Dajana Ćuk @dajana.cuk, which consists of a dynamic series of untold stories of miniature toys.

"Ringe Ringe Jaja" opened on August 2 at 8:00 PM in Vagon.

Traditionally, the exhibition is followed by an Artist Talk with the artist the very next day, but this time the conversation was led by Ognjen Milošević and Katarina Borojević, thus concluding this year's first interactive workshop of this type in our gallery.

“Play is an essential part of childhood, and toys have numerous functions in a child's development. What's really important to me is that this need for toys and play has never stopped.”
