Katarina Aćimović's artwork is presented through connections, interweaving and exploration. family heritage and the position of women in the art world. Starting from a personal story, from the connections, which engaged in by her mother, Katarina builds this exhibition, asking questions about the importance of heritage in her work, about what embroidery represents in contemporary art, entering the domain of issues of the position of women in the artistic world. Embroidery, long perceived as a woman's craft, the space of women's leisure time, over time it becomes a part of artistic expression, finding its place in the work of many contemporary artists. 

Through female inheritance, representing your own artistic work through embroidery, Katarina Aćimović upgrades her artistic expression by moving art in space in the form of tapestry. Setting the starting point of his artistic work within the framework of his family heritage, starting with the motif fish, which for her is a symbol of woman, further articulates and expresses her artistic research using drawing, painting and installation. Crocheting, as the main inspiration, is in her case torn from the traditional framework, and she presents it in a new light, enriched by her own sensibility and artistic vision. 

Using different art expressions, Katarina plays with the possibilities that this type of artistic heritage provides us, examining its possibilities through various media, deconstructing its traditional understanding, while enriching his artistic expression. As a dedication to the mother and at the same time a separate part of the exhibition, the work stands out "Revitalization", created from her mother's crochet stitches, from which she creates a new work of art - a blazer. With this with his work, he goes out of his own artistic framework, creating a clothing item, as soon as this one is artistic introduces experimentation into the field of fashion, but lingers on the question of the influence of tradition on contemporary visual creativity. He uses his example as a case study to reexamine the role of tradition in art, and by choosing Crocheting, a unique female craft as a basic starting point, also actualized the issue of the role of women and their contribution to the art world.
