The fusion of contemporary art and electronic music at this year's Fresh Wave Festival, in collaboration with Galerija Vagon, represented an innovative platform that opened the door to a new way of experiencing both media. This fusion of art, which deconstructs social paradigms, and music, which operates through powerful sensory experiences, offered the audience the opportunity to explore and recreate collective identity through various media, such as visual, sound and tactile. Art at the festival was not just a decorative element, but entered into a dialogue with visitors, raising important questions about what it means to be part of a collective in a contemporary world, where the boundaries between individuality and community are increasingly blurred. These ideas were especially present through video works and interactive installations, which uniquely explored topics such as gender identity, geopolitical influence and environmental awareness. The audience did not just passively observe the works, but were active participants in their creation and interpretation, which made each artistic intervention a personal and collective reflection on current social problems. Art, combined with electronic music, was a tool for stimulating critical thinking and reflection on the world we live in, while the music lifted the atmosphere with its energy, creating an emotional backdrop for these complex reflections.

The summer stage of the festival featured works by young conceptual artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and the Netherlands.

The festival focused on exploring the everyday challenges of modern society, using art as a means of reflecting on identity, culture and social norms. Thematically, the works addressed issues of gender roles, emigration and the relationship between the past and the present, often using humor and satire as a tool for analysis and criticism.

Aleksa Jovanović and Jelena Vojvodić presented a video work created from the happening of the same name held at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. The happening raised the question of the position of artists today, opening a space for discussion among artists and cultural workers who were searching for solutions. This video work connects the Fresh Wave Festival, the Vagon Gallery and the artists, considering the context of the visual artist in contemporary society.

Ognjen Milošević created a meditative space called the Chill Zone with cloud projections, providing visitors with an opportunity for relaxation and reflection. Through this installation, Milošević created an ambiance of peace and harmony, contrasting with the more intense performances and works at the festival.

Irma Beširević presented a spatial installation that combined technology, art and ambient design. Her work created a space for communication and reflection, where the audience created the artwork.

Tajana Dedić Starović's video installation "Dancing Echo" showcased dance performances filmed at various locations within the festival. Each video depicted a person dancing in a specific place, creating a unique connection between the past and the present through the art of dance.

Maja Simišić explored issues of identity and emigration through her work “Make Bosnia Sexy Again” using the alter ego Miss Diaspora. Through the pseudo-documentary show, Simišić combined humor and satire to analyze her own feelings and social norms, exploring internalized feelings related to origin and cultural norms.

Nikola Tomić emphasized the importance of preserving nature through the installation “Living Monuments,” using trees as the central material of his work. This installation served as a reminder of the importance of preserving the environment.

The video installation “We Will Leave Silently” by artist Isidora Branković explored themes of gender roles and social norms through a fusion of tradition and the contemporary. In this work, female performers evoked strength and resilience through symbolic movements, connected to the legacy of traditional dances. The installation allowed the audience to reflect on the complexity of identity and cultural heritage in a contemporary context, while its placement in an electronic music festival space provided an ironic contrast between the past and the present.

The collaboration between Fresh Wave Festival and Vagon Gallery has enabled audiences to engage in diverse artistic practices, offering them the opportunity to explore deep and complex themes through innovative and engaging artworks. Through this collaboration, the festival has managed to create a platform for dialogue on contemporary issues, using art as a tool for reflection and critique.
