Confessional is a discursive-visual platform by Aleksa Jovanović and Jelena Vojvodić that explores the relationships between art, institutions, and digital self-reflection. The first iteration, Confessional 1.0, was realized in the Flu_openLAB space in 2022, as a space between personal confession and public exposure, pointing to the tensions of authenticity and representation in the contemporary artistic context.
Confessional 2.0 brings a new phase of unease – a hermetic confessional in which the camera actively shapes perception. The artist becomes both subject and object of his own insecurity, and the act of speaking takes on the weight of consequences. The project does not adapt, but radicalizes the differences between artistic expression and its social interpretation, posing the key question: are we witnessing a moment of truth or participating in a constant performative cover-up?
